Product description

Backplate to fit standard Versachuck wood turner's chuck (may also be used with some other chucks based on the Pratt Burnerd 4" self-centring 4-jaw chuck chuck design, such as the Axminster Precision and Super Precision chucks.)Threaded M33 x 3.5mm to suit lathe spindle.

Typical lathes using this thread would include Wivamac (all models); Oneway 2000 series; Oneway 1640; Steinert (all models); Killinger (All models); Hegner; Hager; Konig; Flott BD180; Emco DB5; Vicmarc VL200 & 300 (not US); Sorby (some markets); Scheppach DMV200 & DMT180 etc.

This spindle form is frequently referred to as being M33 x 3.5 DIN800 and is the form most widely used in Europe - this is the most widespread spindle size in use, worldwide.. The backplate is equipped with a lockscrew to locate in a groove formed in the spindle, preventing release of the backplate/chuck when turning in the reverse direction.

The overalll depth of this backplate is 40mm: some lathes (particularly those originating in Australasia) feature a shorter spindle, without a lockscrew, and for these we offer an alternative, shallower backplate under ref BPM33VM.

About The Toolpost

What's to say, this is us! We are woodworkers and have been retailing in the woodturning, carving and woodworking industry for over 20 year, across two generations. We sell tools we would - and indeed do - use. If it is on the shelves, it carries (for one reason or another) our seal of approval. We are wholly independent, we can choose wherever the wind blows, we have no formal affiliation, which makes our opinons and decision the only trulky inpartial ones in the country as things stand.

We have worked with both big and small manufacturers over the years, we have helped brands develop tools, lathes and accessories, as well as creating our own.

We are proud to manufacture, distribute and retail a huge array of tools, equipment, machinery and supplies for woodturning and wood carving from across the globe.
