By re-thinking the power sanding process, the late Len Piers, devised a solution that obviates the annoying shortcoming of other systems, where the glue line attaching the hook pad to the underlying foam becomes over-heated and fails. Instead of having a foam-backed sanding pad, Len placed the foam on the abrasive so that the backing pad is insulated from the abrasive-generated heat. Hence you have the convenience of a hook-and-loop fastening, coupled with a stiff backing pad which keeps its shape and doesn't try to shed its hook fastening surface every time the going gets a little warm! The pad diameter is 75mm and the shaft is 6mm diameter. This pad is designed for use only with the compatible 80mm dia. Grip-A-Disc foam-backed abrasive discs.
One of the longest standing and original sheer shanding systems, the Grip-a-Disc format has stood the test of time. It's unique foam sanding pads and articuilated head set it apart from the competition.
