Jigs for Jobs

We all know the trials and tribulations of making those perfect corner joints, be if the basic finger joint or a perfectly proportioned dovetail arrangement. It was with this in mind that we felt it would prove useful to begin stocking jigs, to ease the process of this often taxing task. Initially we will only be stocking the Leigh dovetail jig, but who knows what may end up here!!

Leigh Dovetail Jigs

There are many jigs on offer out there, many of which are made by Leigh. We believe that the D1600 shown here is the one best suited to those not familiar with jigging systems, without sacrificing in quality or functionality. If you are accustomed to using dovetail jigs or if you have a specific need for another of the jigs in the Leigh line-up then we will be more than happy to get hold of them for you.

  • The D1600 dovetail jig offered by Leigh allows for limitless spacing and sizing of pins and tails. Can also be used on any width board to further increase the versatility of this piece of equipment.
  • The D1600 jig body is in one piece 6005-T6 aluminium extrusion, precision CNC machined on both clamping surfaces to ensure perfect jig squareness.
  • The D1600 incorporates new single piece, glass reinforced nylon, cam action speed-clamps that are fast, easy to use and almost indestructable, a simple 90 degree turn and 'voila' the piece is secured.
  • The new layout of the fingers as individually adjustable parameters means that 7/8" pin centres are achievable, the narrowest of any dovetail jig.
  • The system is intended for use with 1/4" and 8mm router bits and is supplied with a 1/2" to 8mm reducer for those using 1/2" collet routers.

There is also an accessory kit, the AC1600 (shown right) which contains a router bit set with 7 additional bits providing everything you will need to bring the most out of the jig. Also included in the accessory kit is the RVA1, a vacuum attachment  that can be mounted onto routers that have guide rod holes through the base, either side to side or front to back.

We are offering a package comprising, the D1600 Jig system and the AC1600 accessory kit as we believe that you'll be wanting to get the most out of your jig and thus will want the extra router bits, whilst understanding the need for dust control in the workshop.
