DB1000 Woodturning Lathe

The Wivamac DB1000 is a free-standing lathe of impressive capability suitable for advanced amateur turners looking to move up to a fully professional-quality lathe and for professional turners who do not engage extensively in very long spindle work..

This superb lathe is available either with a four-speed drive system using stepped pulleys and a poly-vee-belt, with either single- or three-phase motor, or with the infinitely variable and reversible Vario electronic motor control system, illustrated above, driving through a four-speed poly-vee-belt transmission, giving excellent torque characteristics over a very wide speed range.  The three-phase and vario versions may optionally be specified with a 1.5 kW / 2 HP motor.  See the specification table, below, for more details.

The headstock swivels/rotates freely as well as being fully mobile laterally, enabling positioning anywhere along the length of the lathe bed, to suit the workpiece.  An exceptionally stable bowl-turning attachment is also available to permit the turning of projects right up to the lathe's capacity of well over two metres diameter!  Even over the bed, items of up to more than half a metre (520 mm/20.5") diameter can be accommodated.  That's what one can really call c-a-p-a-c-i-t-y!  The DB1000 is truly a lathe to move your ambition and your work in stellar directions.  And that's before we mention the fantastic range of accessories available to permit ornamental turning, copying, fluting and similar applications, turning this lathe into a lathe system unsurpassed in its marketplace.

Details of individual components may be found on the Technical Specifications page.  Take a look through the specifications and see what a "real" lathe could bring to your world!  When you are ready to place your order, please call us on 01235 511101.
