1.  Expansion Mode is employed when the chuck jaws are inserted into a recess in the base of the workpiece.  The workpiece is then gripped by expanding the jaws until they grip inside the recess.
2.  Compression Mode is employed when the chuck jaws are tightened down onto a spigot, or foot, which stands out from the base of the workpiece.
3.  The 50 mm jaws are supplied as standard with Patriot chuck packages.
